Congratulations to Jeremy Krupnick, Michelle Phillips, Mary Leeds, Mary Beth Marshall and Susanna Thomson on being recognized as Five Star Mortgage Professionals in the May/June issue of Hampton Roads Magazine. This is the second year Jeremy and Mary Beth have been selected for this well deserved recognition. Five Star Professionals are selected through independent research conducted by contacting clients, peers and industry experts who rate their experience working with local mortgage professionals. From those results, only the top 5 – 7 percent of researched mortgage professionals are named as Five Star recipients (representing less than 2% of the mortgage consultants in our area).

Kim S. Curtis, President & CEO of Tidewater Home Funding, is a 2012 Small Business Insight Minerva Awards recipient. Created to honor leading women business owners in Hampton Roads, the Minerva Awards celebrate achievements in the workplace, the complexities of being a business owner, and recognizes women who excel as leaders in making our community a stronger center of commerce. Curtis is the driving force behind the growth of Tidewater Home Funding since 2008, opening additional offices and developing strategic partnerships throughout the Hampton Roads community.

Curtis has thirty years of mortgage and management experience including being a founding partner, Executive Vice President and COO of Virginia Beach based Southern Trust Mortgage. She helped grow the business to one of the mid-Atlantic’s largest multistate mortgage bankers.

A graduate of Old Dominion University, Curtis is a great supporter and member of her community. Curtis currently sits on the ODU Educational Foundation Board’s Executive Committee, ODU CREED, the YWCA of South Hampton Roads Finance Committee, and Marion Manor Board of Directors where she serves as treasurer. Curtis has also served as President of Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association in 1988 and has served in numerous leadership roles within the mortgage industry throughout her career.

Melissa Biers has been promoted to Sales & Production, working with Senior Mortgage Consultant Jeremy Krupnick at Tidewater Home Funding, LLC. Biers will assist with growing and expanding business throughout the Hampton Roads community. Previously the branch administrator, Melissa has an extensive background in sales, public relations and customer service. A native of New York City, Biers is located at the corporate office in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake.

Sherry Kuntz has joined Tidewater Home Funding, LLC as the receptionist. Kuntz is a native of the Hampton Roads community and has over 20 years of experience as an administrative assistant. Sherry has worked with companies within commercial and residential property management, land development and general contracting. Kuntz is located at the corporate office in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake.

George E. Moore has joined Tidewater Home Funding as Senior Vice President. Mr. Moore will assist with the management and operational duties of investor relations, recruiting, community outreach, business development, and assisting the secondary marketing team. George is located in the Greenbrier office of Chesapeake, and will work closely with the additional office locations in Newport News, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg.

George Moore was previously the owner and President of Enterprise Mortgage Corporation, a very successful mortgage business started in Virginia Beach in 1989. Moore started the business with wife, Janet, and business partner, Mary Leeds. All three professionals are now part of the Tidewater Home Funding team.

Moore has a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and brings over 40 years of mortgage banking experience to his current position. Previous industry positions include past president of Virginia Mortgage Bankers Association and the Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association. George was also an active member of the Tidewater Builders Association and Tidewater Association of Realtors.

Mr. Moore’s community involvement includes a board position with the Judeo Christian Outreach Center, and a member of Foundry United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach.

Christie Woytowitz joins Tidewater Home Funding, LLC as 203K Division Manager and Senior Loan Officer. Woytowitz is located at the corporate office in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake. Christie’s responsibilities include providing vision, focus, education and production of FHA 203K Renovation loans for all offices in the state of Virginia. This program has served as an excellent tool in providing revitalization to communities and neighborhoods and for expanding homeownership opportunities. Christie’s work with Tidewater Home Funding builds upon over two decades of mortgage banking experience.

Christie resides in Virginia Beach, and is active with Cape Henry Rotary Club, First Colonial High School PTSA Board and is President of the First Colonial High School Boys Lacrosse Club.

Virginia Grimes joins the Tidewater Home Funding, LLC operations team as a closer. Virginia has extensive experience in the mortgage industry, and is accustomed to working from processing to delivery of the loan. A native of the Hampton Roads community, Virginia is located at the corporate office, in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake.

Carla Walker joins the Tidewater Home Funding, LLC operations team as an underwriter. She has extensive experience in the mortgage industry, and is accustomed to working with multiple investors. A native of the Hampton Roads community, Carla is located at the Greenbrier office, in Chesapeake.

Charlene Turner joins Tidewater Home Funding, LLC as a reverse mortgage specialist. Turner brings 30 years of banking and finance experience to her new position. She holds a bachelor of science degree from Virginia Tech University, attended the ABA National Consumer Credit School at the University of Oklahoma, and the Virginia Banker's School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia. Turner held executive positions with local financial institutions Virginia National Bank, First American Bank of Virginia, Old Point National Bank and First Coastal Bank. Turner is a licensed mortgage consultant, specializing in reverse mortgage programs. She is located at the corporate office in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake.

Holly Selders has been promoted to Senior Vice President Secondary Marketing & Product Development. Selders has worked with Tidewater Home Funding for over Nine years, and has over eighteen years of experience in the mortgage industry. Selders has a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. Tidewater Home Funding is headquartered in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake.

Tidewater Home Funding, LLC has opened a new office in Virginia Beach at 1248 Gunn Hall Drive and General Booth Boulevard. The Gunn Hall location is the company’s fifth office in Hampton Roads, with additional locations in Chesapeake, Newport News, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg.

Tidewater Home Funding, LLC has signed a new five year lease to operate in the Greenbrier Professional offices, located at 1108 Eden Way North, Chesapeake. The 6,925 sq. ft. space is managed by Towne Development, in Virginia Beach. The Tidewater Home Funding corporate offices have been located in the city of Chesapeake for over eleven years. Additional office locations in Hampton Roads include Newport News, Williamsburg, and two offices in Virginia Beach.

Dahl Evartt has joined Tidewater Home Funding, LLC as a Senior Loan Officer. Evartt has 12 years of mortgage lending experience, and has worked within the Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia real estate markets for over 17 years. Dahl is located at the Great Neck office, in Virginia Beach.

Tage S. Counts has been recognized by Inside Business as a 2010 Top Forty Under 40 recipient. Counts is the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations for Tidewater Home Funding, LLC. His volunteer activities include: treasurer and executive board member, Three Oaks Elementary School; committee volunteer, Corporate Volunteer Council/Volunteer Hampton Roads; board member, Association of Courthouse Recreation; youth basketball and baseball coach; coordinator of volunteer and charitable activities at Tidewater Home Funding. Counts has been located at the Greenbrier office, Chesapeake since 2007.

Mary Leeds joins Tidewater Home Funding LLC as a mortgage consultant. Mary is an industry veteran and household name in the Hampton Roads mortgage industry. Mary was a founding partner and top producer with Enterprise Mortgage, a successful mortgage operation for over 18 years in Virginia Beach. Mary is working at our Great Neck office in Virginia Beach.

Janet Moore joins Tidewater Home Funding LLC, as Senior Vice President Business Development. Janet is an industry veteran and household name in the Hampton Roads real estate, mortgage and building business. She was a founding partner of Enterprise Mortgage, a successful independent mortgage banking firm headquartered in Virginia Beach. Janet will work with the offices in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake.

Ken Kolodziej and team joins Tidewater Home Funding LLC, providing office locations in Virginia Beach, Williamsburg and serving customers in Northeast North Carolina and Florida. Kolodziej's team includes mortgage consultants Mark Kolodziej, Debby Olmstead, Greg Caldwell and Lisa Giles-Wright.

Kenneth W. Manns joins Tidewater Home Funding LLC, in Chespeake, as manager of the closing, shipping and post closing departments. Kenneth has over fifteen years of mortgage banking experience.

Tamzen Burgess joins Tidewater Home Funding LLC, in Chesapeake, as a mortgage consultant. Tamzen has worked within the Hampton Roads mortgage industry for over twenty years and brings a wealth of mortgage banking experience to the team.

Kim S. Curtis is presented with the Women In Business Achievement Award, hosted by Inside Business at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside.

The employees of Tidewater Home Funding help the Children's Miracle Network and CHKD by participating in the Miracle Jeans Day. Employees supported the effort by purchasing Miracle Jeans Day buttons, stickers or lapel pins, and all funds raised go directly to the Children's Miracle Network hospital, Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk.

'Team Tidewater' participates in the Rock n Roll Half Marathon in Virginia Beach, September 6th. Team members take part as runners, walkers and volunteers for the 13.1 mile course. Thank you to John Lavelle, Patty Little, Rita Foster, Holly Selders, Alice Marshall and Tage Counts.
